Un turbal permet de comprime de l'air, donc on peut admettre un melange Air/essence plus important dans moins de cylindrée.

a couple et puissance égale, un atmo aura besoin de plus de cylindrée qu'un turbo pour les développer (les poneys), donc qui dit plus de cylindrée, dit plus de conso (pas forcement vrai, car un moteur peu puissant devra être plus solicite pour mouvoir l'engin)

Un turbo ayant généralement moins de cylindrée a puissance égale (meilleur rapport chevaux au litre) permettra de ne pas trop consommer sur un régime stabilise, car il admet moins de ce mélange AIR ESSENCE, car le turbo n'est pas en action ... ! A vitesse stabilisée, un turbo ne souffle pas, donc admet moins de mélange.

C'est en gros la technique du down sizing !
