Echappements inox Simons Sport - Quel niveau sonore ?

First please accept my apologies for contacting you in English, but I am from France and can't speak Swedish.

I drive a Volvo V70 MY'02 with D5 engine (Diesel, 163hp) and would be interested in purchasing an exhaust system from Simons Sport to replace the original ageing system. But I am concerned about the sound levels of such system (02B-H1R according to your on-line catalog). France is a very restrictive country regarding this and having problems with MOT and law enforcement officers is not what I want.

So here is my inquiry: Do you have Sound Level or Acoustic Power data that you would be willing to communicate, so I could check if the product I intend to buy is within the approval level my vehicle must legally conform to? Charts or tables showing how much sound is produced with engine revs, for example, would be ideal.

I hope my inquiry is something you can cope with and look forward to hearing from you.

Hello,

One might blieve that we have all kind of data for all systems and engines. This is unfotunatly wrong. We primarily contentrate our work on the biggest petrolengines. When this is OK we most often know that the exhaust will be sufficient for the smaller engines and also for the diesel engines. When it comes to the diesel engines there is one factor wich is critical, and its the particulate filter on the OEM front parts of the exhaust. If no filter, the sound might be higher than the petrol engine, but with it the sound may be reduced to almost nothing. Unfortunatly we do not have any sound data wich is reliable for the diesel engine. The conclusion will be the following: If you have a particulate filter I promise you will have no problems with the sound going up. If you do not have a particulate filter the sound might go up above the "French Police Limit".
