Bonjour,

Bonjour,

- sur V70 "undo the retaining screws from the luggage compartment"

Lemay-Auto-Care :

Hi. Give me a second to look this up but the first thing to do would be to unhook the negative battery cable for 10 minutes or so before you do the work so that everything is disabled while you are doing it.
Lemay-Auto-Care :

OK aside from unhooking the battery just grab ahold of the side of the seat by the seatbelt and give it a good tug and it should pop right out.
Lemay-Auto-Care :

Do that on both sides.
Lemay-Auto-Care :

For the backrest pull the headrests straight out they will just pull out
Lemay-Auto-Care :

Then there is a bolt on both bottom corners then the whole backrest comes out
Customer:

I'm a little confused. After the bottom cushion has been removed, there's supposed to be a bolt on the far bottom left and bottom right of the backrest seat. After those are removed, is that when you pull on the seat belts to pop it out? Do the head rests have any clips or pins that need to be removed? Lastly, with the battery disconnected for 10 minutes, will that dis-arm the ROPS system? Before I joined Just Answer, the Volvo dealer told me to stay far away from the ROPS system and that it was mechanical, not electrically activated. Is that true?
Lemay-Auto-Care :

The volvo dealer is trying to scare you into using them. It is not nearly as sensative as they would like you to beleive and with the key out and the seatbelts unbuckled it is not going to go off
Lemay-Auto-Care :

After the seat bottom is off there are two bolts holding the top part to the back wall of the cab.
Lemay-Auto-Care :

The head rests DO have clip like things on them but they will pop off when you try to pull them out.
Lemay-Auto-Care :

Let me look up a little bit more information for you.
Lemay-Auto-Care :

Here is a real nice guide for this with pics that should help explain it.

Ok. I figured so about the dealer. All of my projects, I've been proceeding with caution and have had no problems. It's getting late and I need to get to bed. I

I hit the wrong button. Sorry about that. It's late and I need to get to bed. I'll check out the site you provided tomorrow and get back to you. Thank you for your guidance. Cheers.
Lemay-Auto-Care :

No problem. Good luck and let me know if you need anything else.
Customer:

Thanks. I had to unexpectedly, replace the water pump, timing belt, tensioner and idler pully. I like Gates. They're top notch parts. I'm tired and haven't attempted the back seat yet. Maybe tomorrow.
Lemay-Auto-Care :

Yes gates are good parts. Glad you got through that job and are still here to chat about the back seat Wink I will be here whenever you are ready to tackle it. No rush.
